In My Name Scriptures
MY NAME SCRIPTURES . . .
For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together
as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.
But Jesus said, "Do not restrain or hinder or forbid
him; for no one who does a mighty work in My name will soon afterward
be able to speak evil of Me."
v. 17 And
these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they
will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages.
They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly,
it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they
will get well.
And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in
My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be
glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.
[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever
you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have
appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit
and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may
remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you.
And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me
[you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I
tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM].
Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in
My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking
and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full
1 Corinthians 6:11
And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed
clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the
guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you
were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.
The following verses do not use
specific "In Him" phrases, but they do convey the message of who you
are, what you have and what you can do because you are in Christ Jesus.
And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet
Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and
infirmities and bore away our diseases.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and
I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and
humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and
refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
v. 30 For
My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or
pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is
light and easy to be borne.
For the Son of man came to save [from the penalty of
eternal death] that which was lost.
Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and
unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and
whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what
is already permitted in heaven.
Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together,
make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they
may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in
v. 20 For
wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in
(into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.
Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority
(all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and
behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on
every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen
(so let it be).
I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you
with the Holy Spirit.
And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do
anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!
Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be lifted up and
thrown into the sea!" and does not doubt at all in his heart but
believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you
will [get it].
Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample
upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and
ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing
shall in any way harm you.
But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give
him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I
will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing,
bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.
For this is My Father's will and His purpose, that
everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in
and relies on Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up
[from the dead] at the last day.
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and
destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in
abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone
steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things
that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go
to the Father.
Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will
keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We
will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with
I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become
one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely]
recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You
have loved Me.
And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham's
Seed], then you are Abraham's offspring and [spiritual] heirs according
In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and
completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and
held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have
once put off].
Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be
in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility.
[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the
while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the
power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and
satisfaction and delight.
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out
of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into
the kingdom of the Son of His love.
The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels
and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),
v. 27 To
whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the
riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among
you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.
Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us
(purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a
people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and
enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with]
[And He did it in order] that we might be justified by
His grace (by His favor, wholly undeserved), [that we might be
acknowledged and counted as conformed to the divine will in purpose,
thought, and action], and that we might become heirs of eternal life
according to [our] hope.
v. 9 But
we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a
little while, crowned with glory and honor because of His having
suffered death, in order that by the grace (unmerited favor) of God [to
us sinners] He might experience death for every individual person.
v. 10 For
it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that
He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in
bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their
salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience
necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest]
For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are
sanctified all have one [Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to
call them brethren.
Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the
physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner
partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might
bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of
death--that is, the devil--
And also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who
through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout
the whole course of their lives.
For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in
being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to
the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and
tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].
Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended
and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast
our confession [of faith in Him].
v. 15 For
we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize
and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and
liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted
in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.
v. 16 Let
us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne
of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we
may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good
time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just
when we need it].
Hebrews 7:19, 22
v. 19 For
the Law never made anything perfect--but instead a better hope is
introduced through which we [now] come close to God.
v. 22 In
keeping with [the oath's greater strength and force], Jesus has become
the Guarantee of a better (stronger) agreement [a more excellent and
more advantageous covenant].
But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly]
ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as
the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter,
Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and
rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.
Hebrews 9:24, 28
For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with
[human] hands, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one, but
[He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the [very]
presence of God on our behalf.
Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and
bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a
second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but
to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and
patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.
For by a single offering He has forever completely
cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.
v. 5b For
He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you
up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will]
not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down
(relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
v. 6 So
we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The
Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or
dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?
Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same,
yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).
So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm
against him], and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a
dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may
set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections
of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:21, 24
v. 21 For
even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation].
For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example,
so that you should follow in His footsteps.
He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an
altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to
sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for
all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the
Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human
body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit.
1 Peter 5:7
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all
your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares
for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
1 John 1:9
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess
our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises)
and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously]
cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to
His will in purpose, thought, and action].
1 John 2:1
My little children, I write you these things so that you
may not violate God's law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an
Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father--[it is] Jesus
Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father's
will in every purpose, thought, and action].
1 John 3:2
Beloved, we are [even here and] now God's children; it
is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we
know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God's children]
resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed over out of death into Life
by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who
does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in
1 John 4:4
Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and
have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the
antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he
who is in the world.
1 John 4:10
In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He
loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning
sacrifice) for our sins.
1 John 4:15
Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is
the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he
[abides, lives, makes his home] in God.
1 John 5:1, 4-5
Everyone who believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that
Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and
everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His
v. 4 For
whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the
victory that conquers the world, even our faith.
v. 5 Who
is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who
believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and
relies on that fact]?
1 John 5:11-12
v. 11 And
this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and
this life is in His Son.
v. 12 He
who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of
God does not have that life.
v. 5 And
from Jesus Christ the faithful and trustworthy Witness, the Firstborn
of the dead [first to be brought back to life] and the Prince (Ruler)
of the kings of the earth. To Him Who ever loves us and has once [for
all] loosed and freed us from our sins by His own blood,
v. 6 And
formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and
Father--to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the
dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
